Sam + Erin

Russell's sister Erin married Sam Powell last Thursday. It was a beautiful event.
I feel grateful to be part of this family. I love them all so much.

La Caille

I took my ninth graders to La Caille a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a lot of fun. Russell and Katie came along as chaperones.
My students were all dressed up and so well-behaved.
I was so proud of Katie for trying escargots.
The grounds were beautiful, and food was scrumptious, and the experience was delightful.

Woman at the Well

Russ and I were in our ward production of Woman at the Well. Russ was reluctant to get involved in the first place, and then turned out to be a star. He had five costume changes and played all sorts of parts, including Lazarus, a narrator, a member of the heavenly host, and a Nephite.
We had a lot of fun. It was a very spiritual experience to sing about our Savior and His life. We also loved getting to know our fellow ward members better.

The Rest (and the Best) of our Trip

After Geneva, we spent a full week in Paris. We slept on Brian and Mary-Jane's floor in a crowded pups' nest.
First we ran Katie around the city to all the major monuments. We walked everywhere - I had a pedometer with me and we clocked 78 miles on this trip. Katie wasn't used to all the walking and she got a bunch of blisters - the bottoms of her feet looked like she cooked them in a waffle iron. Here are the sites we visited:

La Tour Eiffel

Notre Dame

Place de la Concorde

L'Arc de Triomphe

L'Hotel des Invalides

Le Musée du Louvre

L'Opéra Garnier

Sacré Coeur

Les Jardins de Luxembourg

Then we spent a day at Versailles.

Racing around and seeing all the sites took about four days, and we still had three more to engage in all sorts of merriment, relaxation and tomfoolery, such as...

What a delightful trip. We had the best time. Thanks again Brian and Mary-Jane for having us.
